1st Match
1st Half
Fry’s started this game well after Yate
won the toss for the kick off. Fry’s applied the pressure instantly and were rewarded with a couple of corners that were taken with
great accuracy but didn’t find the net.
Yate came back strongly only to
be met by the solid defending off Jonathan Shorland
and Joel Rowbottom.
Fry’s won a free kick that was taken by Mickey Parsons
but again couldn’t find the back of the net.
Again Yate came back strong
and worked the ball well down their right wing but again were met with some
resilient defending from Joel.
Yate persevered with the same
route and Fry’s failed to mark all their players tight and conceded the first
goal after some excellent passing by Yate.
Yate continued to pressure
Fry’s and won several corners but the ball was kept out the net by keeper Aaron
Loughlin and his defenders.
A busy first half for the Frys defence who did well to keep the score down.
2nd Half
Yate started strong again but
Fry’s won the ball back and Kyle Morris made an excellent solo run towards goal
only to hit the ball wide.
Another opportunity went begging for Kyle after some
good passing by Charlie Goodwin who came on as sub at half time.
Yate won the ball from Mickey
parsons with a tackle that was adjudged to be a foul by most of the away team
and supporters but not the ref.
With the visiting team almost stopped - expecting the
ref to blow up, the Yate player continued his run
with the ball and fired in number 2 for the home side.
With Fry’s still reeling from the referees’ decision
and their confidence waning, Yate capitalised on this
and scored another to make it 3-0.
Another run by Kyle but he was unable to find the net
after some hard questionable tackles from the home side.
Fry’s continued to tough it out with some good
battling from Perry but the home side were continuing to apply the pressure
with some good football that was matched with strength in their tackling.
With Fry’s unable to find an answer - Yate put three more goals past the Fry’s keeper with no
reply from the visitors.

2nd Match
1st Half
After a first game catastrophe Fry’s B
enthusiastically took to the field in an attempt to over-turn their 6-0 defeat.
Nathan got stuck straight in with a speculative shot
that was easy to save for the Yate keeper.
With Yate returning with
strength, the home side made Fry’s keeper Jovi
Belcher and defender Corey Reid work hard to keep the Yate
strikers at bay.
Ben Harper came close with a shot after winning a
strong tackle and making the keeper work hard.
Ben didn’t give up and ran through two defenders and
calmly waited for the goalkeeper to move from his line, before slotting the
ball past him for 0-1.
Again Ben ran at the Yate
defence and crossed the ball that fell nicely for Nathan Munford to drive home
to make it 0-2 at the end of the first half.
2nd Half
With Fry’s determined to bring the scores back level
they started well with some good runs forward from defenders Corey Reid and
Benn Watt.
Yate made every attempt to put
the pressure back on Fry’s but were finding it difficult to deal with Fry’s
determination.
Some accurate passing from Corey down the right wing
was opening up the game for Nathan who worked hard on the right wing to keep
the ball to try and get his cross in.
Nathan’s determination paid off with another good ball
from Corey, Nathan ran the ball down the wing and cut in beating off the
challenges from Yate to fire home for his second and
3 for Fry’s.
With Yate still not giving
up they caught the Fry’s defenders out of position and their attempted shot
came off defender Corey Reids
foot after his attempt to get back and clear the ball, 1-3.
